چکیده

Positron Annihilation Doppler Broadening Spectroscopy (PADBS) is a characterization technique that is sensitive to damage of radiation in polymers. A damage zone or defect will be created due to the irradiation of Polyallyl diglycol carbonate (CR-39) with α-particles. It is convenient to study this defect caused by α-particle energies using both PADBS and track diameter measurements. An abrupt change in the S and W line-shape parameters has been observed at 3.75 Mev of αparticle energy, while the track diameter shows a continuous decrease for samples irradiated at more than 2.5 MeV of the αparticle energies.

Positron annihilation spectroscopies are methods for direct identification of vacancy-type defects by measuring positron lifetime and Doppler broadening of annihilation radiation and providing information about open volume, concentration and atoms surrounding the defect. Both these techniques are easily applied to bulk samples. Only the Doppler broadening spectroscopy can be employed in thin ep...

Application of Coincidence Doppler Broadening Spectroscopy to Hydrocarbons at Different Substance States

Coincidence Doppler broadening spectroscopy was applied to study n-hexane (C6H14), cyclohexane (C6H12) and cyclohexanone (C6H10O), at solid, as well as liquid states. The experiments were performed in parallel with traditional positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy. Significant positron trapping by oxygen was observed in cyclohexanone; the oxygen effect is stronger in liquid state than in ...

Identification of vacancy defect complexes in transparent semiconducting oxides: the cases of ZnO, In2O3 and SnO2

Positron annihilation spectroscopy, when combined with highquality supporting modeling of positron states and annihilation in matter, is a powerful tool for detailed defect identification of vacancy-type defects in semiconductors and oxides. Here we demonstrate that the Doppler broadening of the positron annihilation radiation is a very sensitive means for observing the oxygen environment aroun...

Vacancy defect distributions in bulk ZnO crystals

We have used positron annihilation spectroscopy to study vacancy defects in ZnO single crystals grown by various methods from both commercial and academic sources. The combination of positron lifetime and Doppler broadening techniques with theoretical calculations provides the means to deduce both the identities and the concentrations of the vacancies. The annihilation characteristics of the Zn...
